Visa Guidance
Once you have been accepted by the college (please see the Admission Procedure guidelines for more details), we will send you a letter of Acceptance, which you will need in order to obtain a Student Visa. Students are advised to take the following documents to the British Embassy / High Commission to apply for the student visa:
- Letter of Enrolment.
- Passport and Photographs.
- Documents showing the availability of funds in pounds sterling to cover the entire cost while at the UK.
- Relevant academic certificates (Originals).
- Statement of Purpose (Returning to home country upon completion of study).
Please contact the college for any queries. Once you are in the UK and you
need any further assistance, our college admin staff would be happy to assist you.

Airport Pick-up
On arrival in the UK airport, if you need a pick-up service to take you to the accommodation, we would be able to arrange it for you. The fee for airport
transfer service is £100 payable before arriving to the UK. If you would like to be received at the airport you must inform the College of your flight
details as soon as possible. The details should include the name of the airline, flight number, date, expected time of arrival, airport you are flying
from and the airport you are arriving at.

Accommodation
KCOL provides assistance in finding a suitable
accommodation for the students when they
first arrive in the UK. If any students require
accommodation, they should notify the
college at the time of application. At the latest,
students should notify two weeks before the
arrival in the UK. Student Welfare Officer of
KCOL takes care of the accommodation
facilities of all students. All inquiries regarding
the accommodation should be sent to
admin@kcol.co.uk.
There are different types of accommodation
available, from private rooms, studio flats to a
detached-house. Students would be able to
rent the whole house or live in a shared house
depending upon the requirements and budget.
Student Welfare Officer will arrange for the
suitable needs of the students.
Accommodation will be located close to the
College. Renting for private rooms within a
shared house will normally include all the
amenities bills (electricity, gas, council tax, etc)
where as if you rent a house/ flat/ or studio
flat, the amenities bills (electricity, gas, council
tax, etc) should be covered by the tenant. You
need not worry about this, as the Student
Welfare Officer will explain you in details.
KCOL issues Council Tax Exemption Certificates
to full time students.

Bank Account
Once in the UK, student may find it intimidating to open a personal bank account. However our friendly student welfare department would be happy to offer assistance and provide the student with a letter addressed to the Bank Manager that would make it easier for the student to open student bank accounts in the UK.

Cyber Zone
KCOL has a Computer Laboratory which is equipped with the latest industry standard workstations using the latest software as well as access to the Internet. Our lab services and facilities are available free of cost to faculty, staff, and students during the opening hours. Labs are constantly being added and improved. There is wide range of software in the computer lab from Photoshop to media players. Computing students have access to programming language tools such as Visual Basic, C++, JAVA and databases. Both hardware and software are regularly reviewed and kept updated and secured all the time. We have a dedicated IT support person to look at any issues that may arise during the operation.

National Insurance
Anyone who is employed or looking for work in the UK is required to obtain a National Insurance number. To apply for National Insurance number, student will have to call the NI Helpline number.
Student will need to supply the following information when applying:
• Name, address and phone number
• Employers name address and phone number
• Nationality
• If you are an overseas student, confirmation that you are here on a student visa (and the date your student visa expires) or are an EEA national.
KCOL admin staff will be there to assist you in this matter.

Transportation
Accommodation may be within walking distance of the college. If not most accommodation will require travel on London underground (tube) and / or buses.
Being a full-time student at KCOL, students will become eligible for 30% students discount on Travel cards and Bus & Tram Pass on season tickets valid for 7 days, one month or longer periods of up to one year.
Discounts are also available on theatres and various tourist attractions to students with a valid student ID card.

Health Services
Treatment under Britain's National Health Service will be given to students on courses of over 6 months or longer. KCOL would offer assistance and provide a supporting letter if needed to the international students to register with their local General Practitioner (Doctor). This will entitle the students to free hospital treatment through the UK National Health Service.
